Top Tips film used as part of an e-learning course for The Royal College of Psychiatrists

"A clip from Top Tips has been included in the CPD Online module “Mental health and deafness” as the animation offers a light-hearted approach to communication strategies for communicating with deaf children and was designed by the young people themselves. It brings to light some of the barriers that they face daily and offers simple remedies to address these."

Top 5 tips for communicating with Deaf young people

Top 5 tips for communicating with Deaf young people

This is a short film made with a group of Deaf young people to help teachers and pupils to understand how best to communicate with them. It covers common mistakes which the young people found in school, and which make their lives more difficult and frustrating. Animation is used to get the information across in a fun way, and is intended to be watched and understood by hearing and non-hearing audiences.

The Top Tips are:
1: Avoid visual distractions 2: Position yourself properly 3: Make yourself clear 4: How to get attention 5: What to do in group situations

Here are some pictues from the project as well as a video of some taster animations done during the sessions.
