Top Tips film used as part of an e-learning course for The Royal College of Psychiatrists

"A clip from Top Tips has been included in the CPD Online module “Mental health and deafness” as the animation offers a light-hearted approach to communication strategies for communicating with deaf children and was designed by the young people themselves. It brings to light some of the barriers that they face daily and offers simple remedies to address these."

Top Tips films promoted by 'Hello' campaign

'Hello' is a campaign to increase understanding of how important it is for children and young people to develop good communication skills. Run by The Communication Trust, a coalition of over 35 leading voluntary sector organisations, Hello aims to make communication for all children and young people a priority in homes and schools across the country so they can live life to the full. Both of our Top Tips films are featured on their Youtube channel.

Top Tips for Health Professionals



Here is our 'Top Tips for Health Professionals' film, featuring a talking fish! The film suggests ways to improve Deaf awareness and communication skills amongst Health Professionals when working with Deaf young people. This includes making an appointment; arriving at reception; receiving treatment and having things clearly explained in an easy to understand way. Enjoy!

3rd Deaf Communication Film
















We are just beginning post-production on our latest animation for Lime Trees, about Deaf young people's experiences of using medical services. We had a very successful week at Leeds Society for Deaf and Blind People, working with a group of Deaf young people to come up with ideas for the film, then script, voice and animate it. As part of the film we need to create an animated fish - these are some shots of the work in progress. More to follow soon...
